His main contributions concern exact results for equilibrium properties of Coulomb systems. He also gave lectures in various fields, among which electromagnetism, non-linear physics, or systems with long range interactions. He is the author, with Marc Magro and Pierre Pujol, of the book Physique et outils mathématiques, EDP Sciences (2008), and of its english version (including Maxime Clusel) Physics and Mathematical Tools, World Scientific (2016).
