Dick Sandberg is professor in wood products at the Linnæus University in Växjö, Sweden, and associate professor in building materials at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and a doctorate in wood technology and processing from KTH. His research is concentrated on bio-energy from the forest resource; new sawing systems; the bending of solid and laminated wood products; and on other value-added products of softwood and hardwood. Professor Sandberg is the author of numerous patents.
