SettingsAccept allRefuse allWerner O. Amrein studied physics and mathematics at ETH Zurich, the University of Kansas and the University of Geneva, where he received his Ph.D. in 1968. He continued his scientific activities in the Department of Theoretical Physics of the University of Geneva where he became professor in 1988. His main research interests are in the areas of spectral and scattering theory and in functional analysis; he is author or co-author of several books. Much of his time has been devoted to teaching theoretical and mathematical physics. He has lectured at the Universities of Geneva, Lausanne, Louvain and Munich, as well as at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
